Another "next-of-kin." These are made up in a different variety of ways. Someone takes advantage of a true news story in the media where someone died, and supposedly left no heirs. If they can't find such a person, they can make something up out of the blue. The storyline is pretty much the same though. Someone rich died, left no heirs, they want you to stand in to collect the fortune, and they'll split it with you. It's a scam, of course.
